()ne investment broker we worked with, who wanted to remind himself that his slow, methodical approach to goal accomplishment would pav off, created an e-mail address that included the name “(irittv Turtle.” Another client, a landscaper who wanted to remind herselt ot her mi.ssion to help others create gardens of beauty and grace, changed her e-mail address to “ku\YourCiarden21')av.”

■ Vanity license plates. Imagine driving dow n the highway and seeing a car in Tront ot vou that has a vanity plate that reads “.SlM)IUd:R.” W ould vou want to get any closer? Probably not. But what do vou think the impact is ot seeing the tollowing (real!) license plates on either vour own car or someone else's?: “A11:1.HI A,” “BI.E:SSI:I),” “THANKS,” “AQW AMAN,” “W KH\ l UN,” “I’HGHAPY,” or “LUVHKD/”? And what would he the impact on vour mood if vou had these plates, or vou saw them on someone else’s car?: “B.XDKlI'iS,” “\l.\CiN.\Tl:,” “RUTT1I.[:S,” or “F-IR.\C”?

■ Cell phone ring tones. Music has been tound to make people more energetic and happy, as well as to elicit mennuies and images that can support goal pursuit, so a large number c")! our clients now use their cell phone ring tones strategically. 1-or example, one client wakes up in the morning to the theme song trom sitcom }lapp\ which makes her think the word “happy” for hours after hearing it.
